Saigon motorbike traffic

Motorbike-clogged Ho Chi Minh City, which most people still refer to as Saigon, is a bustling city of high-rise buildings mixed with street markets, Starbucks coffeeshops and high-end department stores. It is the economic center of Vietnam and the country's largest city, which means that its streets are almost always full of commuters.
Rush hour is all day long. It's amazing that anyone gets to work on time, no matter when they leave home.
In Vietnam, cars are way too expensive for most people to own. The government adds exorbitant taxes and fees to the price of a new car, meaning a Toyota Camry that costs about $23,000 in the U.S. would skyrocket to about $60,000 in Vietnam. A motorbike on the other hand can cost as little as $200.
That makes motorbikes the vehicle of choice for just about everyone. And there lies the problem in a city of 9 million people.
