You’re strapped into the captain’s seat, feet planted on the rudder pedals, right hand clamped to the thrust levers, left hand on the control column. You’ve had a full briefing from your own personal instructor, and you’re ready to fly the plane. With permission from Air Traffic Control, you advance the throttles and your Boeing 737 hurtles down the runway and takes off, climbing to 2000ft before banking into a 45° turn away from the airport. You’re airborne, and you can start to relax and appreciate the stunningly realistic scenery. But you don’t have too much time for sightseeing; you need to manage your air speed, maintain your altitude and watch your heading. Monaco guards

Almost every tourist in Monaco comes to see the Changing of the Guard, a 10-15 minute ceremony featuring a lot of stomping and clanking of guns. Every day at 11.55. The ceremony commences from the guard house on the opposite site of the square to the Palace and reverse. The chains across the square indicate where the guards will pass by.

Så åker du enklast till Liechtenstein

En liten reseguide för dig som vill åka till Liechtenstein.

Den 9 oktober 2015 tar lilla Liechtenstein emot Sveriges landslag i miniatyrstaden Vaduz. Det gäller förstås kvalet till Fotbolls-EM. Hur tar jag mig på egen hand till Vaduz?

Enklast och förmodligen billigast är om du flyger till Zürich som är den största staden i Schweiz. På Hauptbahnhof kan du köpa biljett till gränsstaden Sargans i Schweiz. Biljetten kostar ca 300 kr (april 2015) och den minnesvärda resan som går längs Zürichsjön och ett alplandskap tar strax under en timme. Prisläget är mycket högt i Vaduz. Därför kanske det är bättre att ha Sargans i Schweiz som bas. En lunch i Vaduz kan kosta över 300 kr utan dryck (!) och ungefär 160 kr i Sargans, Schweiz.

Från Sargans åker du snabbt och enkelt till Vaduz, med Liechtenstein bus. Resan kostar ca 60 kr och tar 30 minuter. Framme i Vaduz: Om du har tid över i Vaduz kan du ta en promenad upp till slottet. Det är stängt för besökare men utsikten från höjden är väldigt fin.

Promenera tillbaka till "centrum" igen och du hittar Liechtensteins nationalarena några minuters vandring från huvudgatan. Utanför Rheinpark Stadion betar korna på ängarna och vackra berg omger arenan som har en kapacitet på 6000 åskådare. Det är mer än stadens befolkning på 5200 personer!

Det finns i ärlighetens namn inte mycket att se i Vaduz men det är en härlig känsla att besöka ett av världens minsta länder. Bara San Marino, Tuvalu, Nauru, Monaco och Vatikanstaten har mindre yta.

Ha en trevlig vistelse i Liechtenstein!

Ps. Du kan också åka från t.ex. Feldkirch i Österrike eller Buchs i Schweiz men det blir krångligare...

Furstendömet Liechtenstein ligger i övre Rhendalen i Alperna, mellan Schweiz och Österrike. Det mäter två och en halv mil på längden och som mest dryga halvmilen på bredden.

Två tredjedelar av Liechtensteins 36 000 invånare är medborgare i landet, medan resterande tredjedel i huvudsak är medborgare i grannländerna. Tyska är officiellt språk.

Liechtenstein är ett av världens rikaste länder mätt i bruttonationalprodukt (BNP) per invånare.

Florence (Firenze) is magnetic

Return time and again and you still won't see it all. Stand on a bridge over the Arno river several times in a day and the light, mood and view changes every time. Surprisingly small as it is, this riverside city is like no other. Cradle of the Renaissance and of tourist masses that flock here to feast on world-class art, Florence (Firenze) is magnetic, romantic and busy.

Saigon motorbikes

There are million of scooters teeming through the streets of Vietnam’s largest City, Saigon, and they are an attraction in their own right. Totally mesmerizing to watch, they buzz about their business, inches apart; streaming down avenues, weaving, wending, intertwining their way across town and performing hair’s breadth manoeuvres at every cross-road. Young women wearing peaked helmets sit straight-backed at the traffic lights. Families ride pillion – four up plus baby. The blasting of horns and the screech of brakes is constant, the air is fume-filled and the traffic relentless. But it’s fascinating. See more photos from Vietnam.

Thailand tourism festival 2015

To celebrate the grand opening celebration of the “2015 Discover Thainess” campaign, the Tourism Authority of Thailand held the country’s biggest tourism event, the Thailand Tourism Festival (TTF). It was held during 14-18 January, 2015, at Lumpini Park, Bangkok.

Miss Tourism Kyrgyzstan, Zhamilia Ishenbaeva at Ala-Too Square. The square was built in 1984 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Kyrgyz SSR, at which time a massive statue of Lenin was placed in the square's center. The statue of Lenin was moved in 2003 to a smaller square in the city, and a new statue called Erkindik (Freedom) was installed in its place.

Karon beach, Phuket

Karon features the third longest beach on Phuket Island. Located on the west coast, between Patong to the north and Kata (with which it shares a common municipality) to the south, Karon Beach is the second favourite holiday destination in Phuket. The beach itself has excellent snorkelling (and even diving) spots at its southern end and is wide enough for beachgoers to never feel crowded.

The Confusions The Pilot - Cover

Under sina resor har Anders lärt känna några filippinska musiker i Thailand. Eftersom han är kompis med Sundsvallsbandet The Confusions, bad han musikerna Mia Miraflores och Megan Balao att tolka en av gruppens låtar. De lärde sig The Pilot under en paus och spelade sedan upp den för den thailändska publiken. Det hela filmades och lades upp på Youtube. Självklart reagerade The Confusions själva på den sydostasiatiska tolkningen.

– Det har varit tummen upp, faktiskt. Jag vet inte om det är av artighetsskäl, men jag tror faktiskt att de är ärligt glada att vi gjorde det här, skrattar Anders.
