Aung San Suu Kyi, född 19 juni 1945 i Rangoon, är en burmesisk politiker. Hon har länge kämpat för demokrati i landet som är en militärdiktatur, och har sedan 1989 i omgångar suttit i husarrest, men frigavs den 13 november 2010. Hon tilldelades Nobels fredspris år 1991.

Shwedagon Pagoda - # 144

The Ati-Atihan Festival is a feast held annually in January in honor of the Santo Niño (Infant Jesus), concluding on the third Sunday, in the island and town of Kalibo, Aklan in the Philippines. Ati-atihan means "to be like aetas"or "make believe ati's." Aetas were the primary settlers in the islands according to history books. They too are the earliest settlers of Panay Island where the province of Aklan is.

Contemplate 4000 sacred stupas scattered across the plains of Bagan. Stare in disbelief at the golden rock teetering impossibly on the edge of a chasm. Encounter men wearing skirt-like longyi, women smothered in thanaka (traditional make-up) and betel-chewing grannies with blood red juices dripping from their mouths – and that’s just the airport!
