Liberty Square - Taipei

Liberty Square (also Freedom Square) is a public plaza covering over 240,000 square meters in the Zhongzheng District of Taipei, Taiwan. At the east end of Liberty Square stands the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. The square is flanked by the National Concert Hall on the north and the National Theater on the south. A park surrounds the plaza and a wall surrounds the site. The square sits within sight of the Presidential Office Building.

Cebu City ligger mitt på östra kusten av ön Cebu, med förorter även på ön Mactan, och är administrativ huvudort för provinsen Cebu samt regionen Centrala Visayas. Staden hade 798 809 invånare vid folkräkningen 2007. Staden är indelad i 80 smådistrikt, barangayer, varav samtliga är klassificerade som urbana enheter. Cebu har Filippinernas näst största internationella flygplats, och är också en viktig hamn.

Cebu City är kärnan i storstadsområdet Metro Cebu, som är Filippinernas näst största och består av sju städer samt sex kommuner och hade 2 314 897 invånare år 2007.

Ferdinand Magellan, känd som den förste världsomseglaren, kom aldrig själv jorden runt, utan hans resa tog slut strax utanför dagens Cebu City, där han 1521 dödades på ön Mactan i strid med urinnevånare anförda av hövdingen Lapu-Lapu. Spanjorerna grundade 1565 sin första permanenta koloni på Filippinerna här.

The Sinulog festival is one of the grandest, most distinguished and most colorful festivals in the Philippines. The major festival is held each year on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City to honor the Santo Niño, or the child Jesus, who used to be the patron saint of the whole province of Cebu (since in the Catholic faith Jesus is not a saint, but God). It is fundamentally a dance ritual which remembers the Filipino people's pagan past and their recognition of Christianity.

BTS Skytrain

BTS Skytrain står för Bangkok mass transit system. BTS etablerades 1992 dels för att Bangkok hade stora problem med tunga avgaser av den täta trafiken och dels för att underlätta för de pendlamde Bangkokborna. Skytrain med sin 23 stationer på 2 linjer öppnades för första gången den 5:e December 1999.

Skyrtain öppnades faktiskt officiellt på kung Bhumibol Adulyadej's 72:a födelsedag och är därför känt för "the Elevated Train in Commemoration of HM the King's 6th Cycle Birthday ". BTS handhar ca 400 000 passagerare varje dag. Många väljer taxi eller just skytrain dels för den tid man sparar jämfört med att köa i biltrafiken på gatorna och dels för den avsvalkande temperatur som skytrainen erbjuder med AC.

Bangkok is a city that’s constantly on its feet. At the unpolished cement of Bangkok’s public walkways you can find hip-hops and b-boys in baggy clothing claim the empty ground at the BTS walkway adjoining MBK and Siam Square.

We are the robots - Taipei - Taiwan

The National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine is a shrine in Taipei City, Taiwan, dedicated to the war dead of the Republic of China.

The Martyrs Shrine recalls the architecture of the Hall of Supreme Harmony in Beijing's Forbidden City. The structure houses the spirit tablets of about 390,000 persons killed, among other engagements, during the Xinhai Revolution, Northern Expedition, Second Sino-Japanese War, Chinese Civil War, and the First and Second Taiwan Strait Crises.

A changing of the honor guard from the various branches of the Republic of China Military, similar to the rituals at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, take place at the shrine.

Loboc river - Bohol

Lobocfloden ca 20 km från Tagbilaran city på Filippinerna åker du enklast till via hyrd mc från Panglao eller Tagbilaran. Sen kan du hyra in dig på en båt och dra iväg längs den slingrande floden. Not to be missed!

The Loboc River is a river on Bohol Island, the Philippines. It is one of the major tourist destinations of Bohol, local and foreigners alike. The winding river plays host to cruises on board of small bancas or floating restaurants. Visitors are treated to a vista of lush tropical vegetation such as nipa palms, coconut trees, banana groves, and bushes.

National Monument (Malaysia)

The huge tall bronze figures of soldiers standing and supporting their fallen comrades, which is opposite Lake Gardens, are the work of sculptor Felix de Weldon, who also did Washington’s Iwo Jima Monument and it is regarded as the largest bronze monument grouping in the world.

The National Monument was completed and officially opened on February 8, 1966, by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. It was proclaimed a memorial park dedicated to the 11,000 people who died during the 12-year Malayan Emergency (1948-1960). Thereafter, a wreath-laying ceremony takes place at the monument every July 31 on Warriors Day.

On 27 August 1975, the monument suffered extensive damage due to an explosion set off by a communist terrorist. But the communist had denied their involvement and instead alleged it was the work of the government itself to damage the monument in order to rationalize the rebuilding of the monument statues which was perceived of having statues of the Caucasians to resemble the looks of Malaysians to avoid being alleged racist and any embarrassment on the government part by blaming the communist. It has since been restored to its original state with the new looks on 11 May 1977. A fence was then erected and the complex was declared a protected area between sunset and dawn. Every day at dawn, a soldier raises the national flag and lowers it at dusk.

The monument depicts a group of soldiers holding the Malaysian national flag, the Jalur Gemilang, aloft. Each of the bronze figures symbolizes leadership, suffering, unity, vigilance, strength, courage and sacrifice.

Phuket town

Phuket Town är en stad i sydöstra Phuket i Thailand, och regionhuvudstaden i provinsen Phuket. Den 13 februari 2004 tilldelades Phuket Town officiellt status som stad (thesaban nakhon) sedan dess invånarantal överskridit 50 000. Dess nuvarande invånarantal uppskattas vara 75 000.

Kiev Pechersk Lavra

Kiev Pechersk Lavra i Ukraina har ett antal arkitektoniska monument, med alltifrån klocktorn och katedraler till underjordiska grottsystem och starka fortifikationsmurar i sten. Här finns Lavras stora klocktorn och Marie avsomnandes katedral (bilden), förstörd under andra världskriget, men på senare år helt restaurerad.

MBK Center - Mahboonkrong

MBK Center, också känt som Mahboonkrong är ett köpcentrum i Bangkok, Thailand. Här säljs allt från mobiltelefoner, kameror och annan elektronik till skor, kläder, kosmetika och möbler. Med åtta våningar, 330 meters längd och 2 500 butiker är det ett av de största moderna shoppingcentrumen i Asien.
